From Incompetence to Competence

Last week we asked two questions:
1)  Are you a level 4 individual or group in whatever you do?
2)  What Level do you think you are at right now in your business and/or life?

Are you able to answer these questions or do you need a moment?
Practice Makes Perfect
Before we get into breaking down level 3:  Conscious Competence, lets refresh on the 4 levels:

Level 1- Unconscious Incompetent: You don't know what you don't know (no clue)
Level 2 - Conscious Incompetent: You know that you don't know (clue)
Level 3 - Conscious Competent: You know that you know
Level 4 - Unconscious Competent: You don't know that you know, it is easy

So we are at Level 3 and you now recognize that whatever the task is, you are doing it focused on the functionality of it but it takes some effort mentally.  Basically, you know the basic functions of performance but you still rely on an instruction manual and spend a great deal of time preparing.  In this level you continue to practice...Practice Makes Perfect!

IDEALLY-YO!
Ideally, most entrepreneurs think that their passion is going to get them profit but it takes some passion, competency, and the practice of the process in order to make a profit in whatever business model you are in.  Competency starts with realizing that you don't know what you don't know. So you'd better start asking questions to learn what it is that you don't know, so you'll then know it.Once you have an idea of what you need to fulfill the void of what you don't know, you'll need to either get a process or develop one to keep the business flowing.  Your process should include how you sell and market your products and services.

PASSION + COMPETENCY + PROCESS = PROFIT!

Here's a chuckle for you from Key and Peele to get you thinking about what it takes to get to the next level.  Is it who you know or what you know?  ENJOY!

Level 4...Why Does It Matter To Us Mere Human Beings?

Are you a level 4 individual or group in whatever you do?

As promised, we will be talking about how to get to and start living at a LEVEL 4 in every part of your life. This will be an important piece to make your 2014 the best year that you have ever had. We are putting together tools for you to utilize on a daily base as well as simple ways to implement this into your already lifestyle as you help others do the same.

Most of you that are with Team Pure Intent are hear because of your affiliation with Send Out Cards. Well this is still the core belief of who we are and why we are. Send Out Cards is nothing more than a vehicle that includes positive attraction, outcomes and tools to help you on an everyday base. Some have been out of touch for awhile, while new members are catching the wave and taking their business to the next level. Wherever you fit, you matter!  With this said, let's journey together and refresh our steps to how a theory called Conscious Competence can help you master skills in you business, relationships, and everyday life.

The Conscious Competence Model helps us understand the stages we go through when we are learning something.  This model gives us an awareness to how we process our learning and can assist us in our career development, our personal lives, and helps us to train others more effectively.

Stages of The Conscious Competence
Back in June, we broke down each stage of the Conscious Competence.  Stage 1, "You don't know that you don't know"; Stage 2, "You know that you don't know"; Stage 3, You know that you know"; and Stage 4, "You don't know that you know."

James Dyson: A Level 4 (Quite Possible Level 5 Human Being)
Yesterday, James Dyson, engineer and inventor of the Dyson Vacuum and other helpful products, was on CBS This Morning News sharing the newest product in his line of vacuum cleaners.  His interview was quite interesting.  Here's a glimpse of what he talked about.
James Dyson has mastered what he set out to do and that was to improve those things that have been invented that no one pays attention to but use on a daily basis and make it better.  He didn't invent the vacuum, but he used his design skills to make it better.

What Level do you think you are at right now in your business and/or life?

Get plugged in, get reignited and start this new year off with finding out how you can take your business to the next level while helping others do the same or helping a young adult get started in something very tangible. I am not naive to the fact that money is not important, however I do know that when you have something that everyone can identify with and its not challenging. If you stay focus and willing for this year you will see why I am so passionate about using this vehicle as a means of helping hundreds to thousands of people see the reality in owning their own successful home base business! If I can do it you can too!

Make a ‘Niche’ For your Products and Services

As we move into the last month of the year, are you considering what your goals for positioning your business will be for 2014?  You may want to consider creating a niche for your business to attract new customers and set yourself as the "expert in your field" of expertise.

A niche serves the critical function of distinguishing your products and services from your competitors. A niche market is a narrow but specialized market. For example, if you have a law firm that gets about 80% of the clientele that are immigrants needing law assistance, you may want to create a niche within your business to serve immigration cases.

Focusing on a niche can be effective and profitable especially for a small business who often is more successful to develop a specialty in an area that is not currently being served by other businesses. Small businesses are primed to fill this role because creating a niche strategy involves catering to a very broad audience. Some large companies look at this to be too difficult and costly. When a small business focuses in on a niche market using cost effective marketing strategies, that can business profit more than if they were to copy what their competitors are doing. What makes niche marketing appealing to small businesses is that you provide products or services that are customized to a group of consumers or potential customers in need of those products and services.

The benefits of Niche Marketing
  • There is less competition vying for those customers
  • Your business can easily match your products and services to those customers needs
  • Personalize your businesses' communications to those consumers and potential customers therefore appealing directly to your targeted audience
  • Become the expert within that need
  • Learn more about your customers and improve how your business can meet their needs
Direct Sales Challenge

So how do you create a niche for yourself within a direct sales business? The best way to do this is to master the tips and techniques already given to you by the business you have invested in. Most direct sales businesses equip you with the best strategies to get the word out about your products and services so that there is no mystery involved with making sales. However, it can be overwhelming at times when you are trying to compete with fellow team members. A niche marketing strategy can help you create multiple streams of income by listening first to your current customers needs. I am sure if you were to put pen to paper and write down some commonalities between your current customers, you’d find a common need that has yet been met. Once you have pinpointed that common need, pair up your products and services with marketing tactics.

Communication is Key

Deadlines are all around us but it is so important to recognize those areas in your business where making the customer experience more of a joy than a pain makes your business stand out amongst all the rest. There are so many ways to be respective of time and deadlines so the #6 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business is to communicate effectively with your client. When you do this it shows that you care about the overall outcome of the service you provide whether it be good or bad. When you are creating deadlines for yourself and your clients, it’s best to give a cushion for flexibility and manage those expectations when your cushions no longer provide room for error. Checking in with your client while they may be meeting a deadline that you sent helps keep them focused on the task at hand as well as help you get what you need to complete the project on time.

Office Rockstars!

It’s one thing to demand performance from your team members but never acknowledge them for a job well done. Sometimes simply saying “Thank You” needs to be supported by a gesture of some kind.

#5 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business: Spotlight your Team Members

Team members should have some way to know that they are valued by their organizations leader or boss. Monetary rewards are not always the best way to show recognition but if you can finds ways to motivate your team to go above and beyond their job descriptions using smart and value-added incentives, you can express your appreciation sincerely without breaking the bank. Remember, be authentic and not automatic with recognition.

Promote Gratitude

#3 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business: Send Some Swag

I don’t know about you but getting those free promotional items when you sign up for something or getting a pen with a company logo just for popping into a store is cool! Who doesn’t like getting a free t-shirt or mug? That free ‘swag’ (promotional items) is a proven effective method to attract new clients and keep those you already have.

Many businesses use custom printed promotional items to help build awareness of their business and what their business can offer a potential client. Building brand awareness is part of the marketing mix and this technique can motivate a current customer as well as a potential client to respond quicker to your incentive and used as a gift raises gratitude in your business.

You can create great swag utilizing custom brand sites like cafepress.com or zazzle.com. Take a look at what we created to inspire you to add some gratitude in your business this month!

Loyal ‘Till The End

#2 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business:  Create a Loyalty Program

Cultivating customer loyalty can be an easy thing if your products and services live up to their expectations and deliver what they say they will do. On the other hand, it can be hard to create if you are not offering a way to grow that type of relationship. The best way to do this is to create a loyalty program. Offering customer rewards are most often used for customer appreciation. A loyalty program should be tailored to your product or service and to your customer base. Whatever type of reward you offer should be both valuable and desirable to the customer.

Most of us are familiar with those store cards you get primarily from a grocery store but a loyalty program can be made up of any type of reward like frequent buyer discounts, coupons, gifts, exclusive deals, etc. What type of reward can you create today to say thank you to your clients?

555-THANKS

In the spirit of being thankful, now (more than ever) is a good time to build positive and sustainable relationships with your customers. This month we will explore a daily thought of gratitude to inspire you in your everyday business routine.

#1 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business: Pick Up The Phone

This simple gesture can go a long way especially if your client doesn’t receive phone calls from you on a regular basis. This call of “thanks” can make someone’s day as well as leave a lasting impression. The best way to make this call a great one is to not have an agenda attached to it. Don’t pitch your latest products on this call. Just let the conversation be light and remember to say thank you for their business. If your client asks about your products or services or goes ahead and wants to place an order with you, by all means grant their request. But try to go above and beyond by offering an unexpected discount to keep the call centered on what you called for in the first place: THANKS!

Gratitude in your Business

Do you find it taxing to keep up with thanking your clients? It’s hard enough to build your business, market your products and services, but when do you have the time to thank your clients appropriately so that you stay “top of mind?” Cultivating customer relationships is a crucial part of sustaining a successful business. Most businesses fail at this opportunity because they stay focused on getting new clients instead of cultivating the ones they already have.

This thanksgiving season is a great time to think about ways you could incorporate a “gratitude” marketing strategy to sustain your current customers, encourage them to refer potential clients to you, and build a positive reputation for your business.

Did you know that studies have shown that giving gratitude in areas of your personal life as well as your business promotes healthy living, high levels of energy, and just all around good vibes?

Here are the stats:

As many as 89% of consumers began doing business with a competitor following a poor customer experience, 37% of brands received good or excellent customer experience, whereas 64% of brands got a rating of “OK,” or “poor” from their customers and up to 60% of consumers will pay more for a better customer experience.

In the spirit of being thankful, now (more than ever) is a good time to build positive and sustainable relationships with your customers. This month we will explore a daily thought of gratitude to inspire you in your everyday business routine. Please try some of our 25 ways to show gratitude in your business ideas and let us know what you experienced.

3 More Ways to Pre-Launch a "Coming Soon" Business Launch or Re-Launch

It’s so important to have solid plans for promoting the launch or re-launch of your business because you want to be able to make a long and sustaining impact on all the efforts you put forth. We live in a digital world that craves information so why not utilize that concept to market your business! Here are 3 more ways to pre-launch your business for buzz-worthy results.

Shift from Lecture Mode to Monologue Mode - Engage prospects with conversation by answering comments and questions as they come in to your website/blog and create marketing that “speaks to” rather than “preaches to” potential clients and customers.

Partner Up - Find joint venture partners who already have compiled a list of people who would be interested in your product or service. A compiled list of people interested in a related market to yours and see if they would be interested in promoting your product. They would send an email to the people on their list that directed them to your pre-launch content. Then you track the sales you made to those visitors using sales tracking software, and you pay your joint venture partner a commission on those sales.

Give Prospects A Reason To Act - It’s important to have some type of deadline—you need to give people a reason to act. There’s always a launch special (special offer or special pricing) that goes away at the end of the launch. In general, the special launch offer is available for five to seven days, and it’s not unusual to see half the sales come in during the last 24 hours or so.

A Buzz-Worthy Business Pre-Launch

You are a business type: Mogul, Entrepreneur, Serial Start-Up Artist, etc. in the midst of letting the world know about your products and services but how do you create a “buzz-worthy” business launch that will turn into repeat customers and valid sales. This month we are going to focus on some strategies and concepts to launch a new and upcoming business as well as provide some tips to re-launch a business that may be stagnant.

3-2-1 Get Ready to Pre-Launch

As new business owners it can be quite overwhelming to know that you not only have to focus on the legality side of a business but also the marketing side to really make your business venture a solid one. That can be quite hard if you are of the creative mind behind a product but have no knowledge of accounting or building a business plan. This week we would like to share some business tips on how to pre-launch a new and current business through some marketing tactics. We are going to assume that you have all your financial and legal preparations handled and just zero in on ways to grow anticipation for your products and services!

4 Ways to Pre-Launch

Tell A Friend - Before you make the big announcement that you are launching or re-launching your business, there is a cost-effective way to let others know before spending a whole lot of money and that is to let those in your immediate network know! Give a little heads up within your network that something huge is on it’s way and you wanted them to be the first to know. Go to your social networks, email contact list, and address book to get started and encourage them to tell their friends. This is a great opportunity to make sure you have everyones current information and build anticipation for your upcoming launch.

Create Anticipation - Publish pre-launch content around your products and services before you release them. Content like a blog, video giving hints or tips about what these products/services can do, or audio of some testimonials. Alert the press about your business launch by sending out paper press releases to local news stations or you can also send electronic press releases. Any media coverage about your launch can be advantageous.

Have A Launch Party or Online Launch Event - A launch party or event can draw potential new customers and increase public exposure for your businesss brand name. At the party or event, you may provide attendants with food and entertainment – creating a relaxed environment where you can introduce your product/service and create buzz. You can also take pictures of your launch party and post them on social media sites to get more attention.

10 Day Pre-Launch Countdown - In a 10 day period, create a “drip campaign” that not only informs your audience that something is coming but that this product and/or service is going to enhance their lives in some way so they need to be ready to receive it! Give prospects the opportunity to be transformed by your products and services by showing them how it can impact their lives now and future wise. Teach them about the products and services benefits and create an ownership experience giving your prospects a feel for what it would be like to own your products finishing your marketing with a special offer for your prospects to buy into.

New Opportunities

Why Organo Gold?

In our great industry of network marketing and direct sells, we have so many products and companies to choose from in the health programs all the way down to computer technology. Team Pure Intent believes in researching and connecting with not only some of the best products in the industry, but ones that truly make a difference in people’s lives.

Organo Gold was added to this list because of its track record of having much success in its research of coffee, tea drinkers and connoisseurs of the product. This company has not just been found to be a “coffee company”, but also a nutritional based company. It found that since there are so many people that use this product on a regular base, how they could infuse healthier ingredients to allow people to enjoy this totally accepted product while also living a healthier lifestyle.

So ask yourself… Does Folgers, Nestle, Pampa, Lipton, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts etc, pay you to either drink their coffee or tea or even promote it? Chances are unless you work for them the answer is a resounding NO. This is another reason why this is an ingenuous business model that has been designed.

This company not only has found a way to fuse two powerful products together that being coffee and the other being ganoderma, they have made a way for you to capitalize on the coffee industry. Now you may say you’re not a coffee drinker that should not stop you from learning and being able to share this product with someone that you know that does drink it, thus giving them a healthier alternative and being compensated for doing so. We believe in supporting those that have valuable information that will help aid in health and wealth. Organo Gold has been giving these opportunities successfully for the past five years. Furthermore, this company has produced more 7 figure plus a year members than any other direct sales and network marketing company worldwide.

A Powerful Fusion

Here at Team Pure Intent, we understand that it takes vision to go being the natural. Many companies and organizations before us have done a very good job at displaying these types of methodologies. You have Dunkin' Donuts that used to brand themselves as the number one seller in donuts. There is McDonald's that branded themselves with having the best fries and most delicious burgers and after you ate with the kids you could go to Ronald McDonald land. You had Subway that stood by the most healthiest way to eat was the famous turkey subs and let’s not forget Burger King, Have it your way.

Companies that have either changed their way of doing business or have fused to powerful concepts together.

Wouldn’t you know even though these companies among others tried to brand themselves as having the best in their respected industries, one this was for certain they were always looking for the next best thing. What was that you ask?

This was coffee!

If you notice today these companies have either changed how they do business, changed their names or even did both including spending millions of dollars updating their logos to reflect the next wave of their company. Why you ask? Good question!

Coffee has been around some say since the middle to late fifteen hundreds and has gone through many changes since then. This to date is the second highest traded commodity under oil sometimes trading higher than oil. Even though at one time coffee was banned from certain countries and religions, today it is safe to say that it is more widely excepted across more boarders than any other food or plant today.

As stated in one of our earlier articles that promotional items that anyone can appreciate is key to your success as well. Sending out greeting cards and gifts are one of the most powerful ways to show your gratitude towards someone. Coffee or tea given in most countries also is considered a true act of kindness. Imagine how someone would feel if they not only knew you were thinking about them, but also thinking about their health as well.

Team Pure Intent has stayed secure in its belief that there should be a wholeness to your way of life, thus meaning that not only should you always be sending gratitude out to your love ones, co-workers and friends, but also remember that keeping yourself in the know of what trends are taking place in the market place will also help reward you in many ways as well.

Fill My Cup

When you’re very busy building your business remember your health is important….

For some time now we’ve been talking about the importance of building your business by branding yourself, staying in front of your customers and clients and ensuring you are steadily becoming a product of your product. With that being said there is something that is as equally if not more important. That is staying healthy while building.

In this day and age people are moving much faster than they use to. Their schedules are much more involved and it seems like the days are short and the weeks are shorter. We must understand that while we do have more on or plate there is also a need to know that we must have the proper vitamins and nutrients to keep ourselves healthy and at the top of our game.

I’ve notice that there is one that that people will take, drink, talk about and do without even thinking about and that is coffee. I am not much of a coffee drinker myself, however it seems like this is something that is totally excepted no matter what industry you belong to.

As I started to study the different kinds of coffee, I notice that most people used this drink mostly to get their day started with a bit of caffeine or to stay awake because of studying or a project that needed to be finish by the next day. I also notice for others that it was the ideal social drink during meetings, opportunity sessions or just something to hold in their hand while socializing with others.

One thing that I can say, there are some coffee’s that have ingredients that will help aid in some form of nutrition and mental alertness.

This company is called Organo Gold. This company has been around for a few years and has made a huge impact on how people drink coffee. While most people would say they were only drinking coffee for the fore mention reasons, those were not the healthiest of reasons to fit. This company actually promotes “healthy coffee” which has ingredients that have helped in a positive mood, refreshing deep sleep, increased mental focus, it may help maintain healthy skin, lungs and urinary tract, it's been said that it supports healthy blood, and cholesterol levels, healthy liver function for body cleansing, and that, it maintains the brain oxygen level for a feeling of well-being.

If you are a coffee or tea drinker I encourage you to take a look at this product at www.teampurecoffee.com and read up on some of the great information this drink can offer you while you are out there continuing to build your business to the next level.

Start. Complete. Repeat.

This week we touched on the importance of setting goals in our business as well as in our personal lives. Within our day-to-day planning we can plan out what we’d like to experience, set a course to achieve it, and maybe share with others how we did it so they too can do the same. Getting a better understanding on what a goal is and setting ourselves up for success to achieve it made us realize the possibilities of some loopholes that could present itself and what to prepare for if plan A doesn't work out the way we planned.

Goal Setting: Why?
Goal Setting: Plan For Everything
A Goal Setting Mindset
Evaluating Goals

Set up a specific date to evaluate

Now that you've gone through all this trouble to create goals and set them according to a timeline, the next step is to evaluate your progress. If your goals are not testable, then they are not measurable leaving you to question if they are concrete goals or not. Evaluating your progress helps you stay on top of your efforts and points out those areas that may need a little tweaking.

Goals are concrete but flexible plans to accomplish your dreams

Give Yourself a Way to Measure your Progress

Keeping track of how much time and energy you spend on attaining goals are simplified when you log them in one place to document your activity. Use a composition book or designate a binder with loose-leaf paper to write down your goals and track your status. Logging your activities and looking back on them on a consistent basis can inspire you to keep going even when you are experiencing little to no results. Whatever your goal is, you need to figure out how to measure your progress and document your successes and/or trials.

Expecting Results? Inspect what you Expect.

The two ways you can evaluate your goal setting progress is to evaluate your progress daily and then to evaluate your progress monthly or quarterly. With this attention to detail, you’re sure to gain success with any goal you set out to achieve. Every one to two weeks, give some time to answer a few questions:

  • Are you sticking to the plan?
  • How can your plan be improved?
  • Have you needed to use Plan B?
  • If so, how did that work out for you? What did you modify?
  • Has the outcome of your results met up with your initial expectations?
  • If so, explain. If not, why?
  • What measures will you take to meet those expectations?

The monthly or quarterly evaluations should be focused on your long-term progression rather than your short-term progression. Answer these questions:

  • Are your plans moving you in the right direction? If so, explain.
  • Is your ultimate goal still the same, or are you considering a change in direction?
  • Can you think of any ways to improve upon your original plans?
  • Have your business goals crossed over into your personal goals and vice versa?
  • What are you learning about yourself through this process?
  • Which of your qualities and habits still need improvement?
  • Are you beginning to think of even larger goals you can achieve now?

Setting goals is crucial to any business, but it’s only the first step. To be successful in achieving those goals, you have to constantly evaluate them to determine if they’re validity and measure your progress toward them. Above all, you won’t be able to achieve your goals without a plan, but you can’t create a workable plan until you've evaluated your goals to ensure they are worth the effort.

Onward and Upward!

Go in The Direction You Set Forth

Why can’t I reach those goals?

Have you ever gotten really inspired to accomplish something, ventured out to get it and came up short? Maybe you set some goals and spent every waking moment trying to accomplish them all, but then after a few days of not reaching some parts of that goal you got discouraged and let go of the possibilities to achieve it?

There could be a flaw within the process of you achieving those goals. Maybe you've set an unattainable high expectation or the goals you've set don’t inspire your drive? You've got to set S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Realistic. Time-bound.) Focus on what you do well and continue to improve on that. Get real about where your weaknesses are and how they can affect the foundations of your strengths. If you spotlight those things that you may not be good at you can find out how you can address those weaknesses so you’ll be on the look out when those things come up during you achieving your goals. Here are three online goal planners that can help you fix those flaws that may be blocking you from achieving your goals:

Goalmigo
Goalmigo helps you set short- and long-term goals, share them with friends, family with the Goalmigo community and track your progress along the way.

Joe’s Goals
Joe's Goals is a simple yet powerful tool to make tracking your goals the easiest part of accomplishing them. Use the simple single page interface to setup daily goals and track them with just a click.

Disciplanner
Disciplanner.com is a web site for tracking long term personal goals and bad habits. No hourly schedules, just commit to weekly goals and record time, that's it.

There should be a balanced mix of personal and professional goals. Get a clear picture of what you want to accomplish and the time it will take to get there.

Low Valley. High Valley. Are You Prepared?

Change is inevitable. What would you do if you've consistently made $4500 in your business every month and now your business is only bringing in inconsistent revenue? How will you recover from the loss? Are you prepared with a backup plan? Well this scenario should definitely be addressed within your goal setting plan. Those “What-if’s” are a part of everyday living so you should prepare for them at every milestone of your goal setting planner so your backup plan will already be in place in case something does go awry.

Mindful Magic Meditation

Okay! So I’m going to get a bit deep on you but I think it’s important to address how we think and perceive what we are experiencing on a daily basis because it could have a direct effect on how we conquer the low and high valleys of accomplishing goals. There are two things I want you to remember when preparing for those Low Valley moments to get you into a High Valley Experience:

I am not in control of my life or those in it. The mindful magic meditation happens when I relax and just show up in every moment of my life as authentically, honestly, and as lovingly as I can be.

I trust in the perfection of the unfolding of my life. The mindful magic moment is that everything is already perfect because I show up trusting in everything, everyone, and every moment. When I notice the beauty, all things are perfect. I can do what I can to change things around me even those things deemed bad. But when I focus on the perfect unfolding of my life, my outlook thrives on the happiness that’s there because I show up everyday trusting.

What do you think? Did this help you? I hope you’ll give those goals you let go another chance and if you got stumped by a low valley moment, breathe! Take a deep breathe and take a mindful magic meditation break. Dust yourself off and write, write, again!

Write It Down and Make It Plain

Goal Setting

Your plan for achieving these goals should be focused on what you want to achieve during a certain time period, it should help you organize your thoughts, setting goals creates a timeline for milestones, and helps you see a clear plan for where you are at and get you where you want to be.

CHANGE isn't CHANGE until you CHANGE

Where do we start?

We can talk all day on the importance of setting goals but the only way goals will be effective is to get going on activating those strategies to accomplish those goals. I find it best to brainstorm first on a blank piece of paper. Allow yourself to jot down anything that comes to mind. Be free with your thought process so that you uncover everything that could be included to help you achieve those goals. Some of us like lists so create one if you’re the neat-and-tidy type. Whatever your approach is, make sure you write it all down. Break It Down Writing your goals down incrementally with short term plans that take steps toward larger things you want to achieve. Start with the end result you’d like to achieve and work your way through to the beginning of how you’ll take steps toward this goal. Ask yourself these questions as you go from end to beginning:

  • What do you need to do within that month to realize the goal?
  • What do you need to do within that week to move closer to your monthly goal?
  • What can you do today?

Don’t wait until things happen to you, go out and make them happen for you!

You can create more structure for your goals by adding in a timeline that includes a yearly milestone like, “where do you see yourself and your business in 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years?” Once you’re happy with the organization of your goals, post them in a place or places that you frequent like your bathroom mirror or above your desk. There was a time when I traveled a lot in my car so I had mini timeline posted on the dashboard with a couple of affirmations taped to the visor. This helped me stay focused and mindful of what I needed to accomplish during the time I spent going from meeting to meeting. If you have a timeline that is set up for weekly milestones, make sure you are actively checking your progress and write down what worked and what didn't work. The more data you accumulate the better you’ll get at achieving those goals as well as accomplish those goals in a shorter amount of time.

Shake The Dust

However you break those goals down and track your progress remember to never give up. The journey may be long but it can be more joyful if you take in all the journey has to offer. The word FEAR is really an acronym that means: False, Evidence, Appearing, Real. What may seem to appear as real may not be. You can stumble and fall flat on your face but it doesn't mean you should give up. If you have it in you to stand up and dust yourself off, you have it in you to achieve whatever goals you set out to achieve.... I DARE YOU!

I see CHANGE in your future!

Setting Business Goals...Why?

When you are ready to set some goals in your business or your personal life, it’s a clear sign that you are ready to experience something new. You are ready for change and what change has to offer you is growth you probably never allowed yourself to undergo. Most of us equate setting goals to the 1st of the new year like a new years resolution. Why wait to set goals at the 1st of the year, anytime is a good time to set goals.

“If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.” ― Yogi Berra

What Are You Trying To Achieve?

Okay! What I’m talking about here is a simple yet well thought out approach to achieving what you want. We’re not going after perfection because let’s face it, we are human and the only living being that sees us as perfection is God! We can create a strategic approach to what we are trying to achieve and hope for a perfect ending. Within our day-to-day planning we can plan out what we’d like to experience, set a course to achieve it, and maybe share with others how we did it so they too can do the same. Setting goals is a sign of maturity. It’s like we are being mindful of those everyday tasks that help us accomplish all our heart’s desire making us more confident beings strengthening us for those times when we may need to deal with unexpected challenges. What can we expect out of goal setting:

  • Business Growth
  • Planning for obstacles
  • Preparing for change
  • Setting a more clear and defined purpose

This week I hope you’ll join in on the discussion of goal setting and learn some of the top ways to plan precision goal setting for your business as well as your personal life. We’ll take on those systems you may or may not have in place to keep you on track to meet those goals and uncover those things that may be keeping you from reaching those goals.

U - Don’t Be Afraid to Be Unique! How to build a successful business brand

Business? Why Y.O.U.

This week we touched on understanding the Y.O.U. in business ownership. There is so much to overcome when you first venture out with a business so why did YOU consider business ownership? Some of us built our business from scratch, some are managing someone else's dream making sure its producing to the best of its abilities, there are those who were given an opportunity packed with the vision, products, and services which they apply their marketing skills to, and there are some who inherited a business. Starting and sustaining a business requires that we show up and blow up fully with our ideas, commitment, and determination to make it a success.

Y - Why did “Y”OU become a business owner?
O - Own It! Become known as an expert in your field
U - Don’t Be Afraid to Be Unique! How to build a successful business brand

Be Unique: Build a Successful Business

Brand Branding is defined as having a strong consistent identity. A brand is can be many things like a name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers. Defining a recognizable image helps your customers remember you and distinguishes you from your competitors. Your brand can bring value to your products and services, create customer loyalty and build business recognition.

Perspective

You as a business can’t be everything to everyone that is why it so important to focus in on what your business can deliver and deliver well. Developing a USP can help you identify the main reason why a customer may continue to get your products and services. Your marketing message must be believable, clear, inflict an emotion (positive I hope), and relevant to your audience. In life perception is everything. How someone perceives another person can make or break a career. There are 3 perspectives to consider when building a successful business brand:

  1. Customers - What do your customers value the most and does that correlate with your products and services. How can you really be of service to them?
  2. Internal - As the founder of your business, what’s your vision? If you have employees, what do they truly think about what the business has to offer and can it do more?
  3. Marketplace - To be a successful brand, you have to position the business to be the only one out there in the marketplace that can do what it claims to do. For example, Ivory soap. For years this brand of soap became famous for its pure content and for floating in water. Although it has evolved into other forms of household products, the soap still floats!

Unmarket your Marketing

As Scott Stratten may rant and rave about how businesses engage or not engage with their customers, I do like what he has to say about utilizing all these marketing tools that are available to us especially online. Although there are many strategies out there that will help you build a successful business brand, focusing in on what you have to offer, looking at your competitions marketing message, and considering the three perspectives will definitely get you started on your branding journey. Branding your business involves a lot of trial and error as well as evolution. Remember your brand will live in everyday interactions with your customers so be mindful of the images you use as well as the message you are trying to send. Simplicity is key!
