The Power of Level 4

You do the task effortlessly without even thinking about it

So, you know what you know, you do what you know, and you breathe what you know... You are at level 4:  Unconscious Competence.  You finally understand what you know and you've become the 'go to' person in your field.  You are proudly wearing the Mr. or Miss "Together" sign very well.

At this stage, you have learned from your mistakes and have trainings and blueprints written to help others not go through what you have.  But this is not the last trial; there is still more to do.

WHAT IS A SUCCESSFUL PERSON?  IT IS ONE WHO HAS LEARNED A SKILL, BEHAVIOR, ABILITY, OR TECHNIQUE SO WELL THEY JUST FLOW IN IT WITH EASE.

Don’t settle. Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

At level 4, it is important not to get used to your surroundings!  Soon you'll need a challenge...That is how you got to this level in the first place.  You'll need something new like improving on what you know, making it better. The worst thing to do is get bored and never grow.  Don't get too comfortable being at this level.  You need to be mindfully aware that although you are the master of what you know, those around you do not know what you know so it can be hard to relate.

Don't get me wrong, there is power in this model.  Regardless of experience, most people who are ready for change will find that they will go through levels 2-4 over and over again in theirs lives especially when they try to change some ingrained habits.  Each stage of learning had something to reveal to you when you are trying to successfully change habits and master what you know.  So RELAX!  Get good at recognizing those levels that get you stuck so you can release them as unnatural skills. Some things are not for you to master but to hire those who have mastered it.

So where do you go from here?  There is a suggested fifth state of this model: Conscious competence of being unconsciously competent- which describes a person's ability to recognize being in stage 4.  For now, let's just stick to the 4 stages and if you uncover level 5 in your life, please share it!

From Incompetence to Competence

Last week we asked two questions:
1)  Are you a level 4 individual or group in whatever you do?
2)  What Level do you think you are at right now in your business and/or life?

Are you able to answer these questions or do you need a moment?
Practice Makes Perfect
Before we get into breaking down level 3:  Conscious Competence, lets refresh on the 4 levels:

Level 1- Unconscious Incompetent: You don't know what you don't know (no clue)
Level 2 - Conscious Incompetent: You know that you don't know (clue)
Level 3 - Conscious Competent: You know that you know
Level 4 - Unconscious Competent: You don't know that you know, it is easy

So we are at Level 3 and you now recognize that whatever the task is, you are doing it focused on the functionality of it but it takes some effort mentally.  Basically, you know the basic functions of performance but you still rely on an instruction manual and spend a great deal of time preparing.  In this level you continue to practice...Practice Makes Perfect!

IDEALLY-YO!
Ideally, most entrepreneurs think that their passion is going to get them profit but it takes some passion, competency, and the practice of the process in order to make a profit in whatever business model you are in.  Competency starts with realizing that you don't know what you don't know. So you'd better start asking questions to learn what it is that you don't know, so you'll then know it.Once you have an idea of what you need to fulfill the void of what you don't know, you'll need to either get a process or develop one to keep the business flowing.  Your process should include how you sell and market your products and services.

PASSION + COMPETENCY + PROCESS = PROFIT!

Here's a chuckle for you from Key and Peele to get you thinking about what it takes to get to the next level.  Is it who you know or what you know?  ENJOY!

Reach Your Niche Digitally

For the month we have been chatting about creating niches for your business with your products and services. So once you have identified your niche and have narrowed in on who your target market is; is there a need that can be filled with your products and services? I’m sure there is! Hopefully you have built some stronger relationships by positioning the right products and services to those customers that need your specified products and services. If you have done all the above, now it’s time to engage with your audience. You can do this successfully by building relationships with online groups and/or forums.

Provide your targeted audience with a place where they can share both the ‘Highs’ and ‘Lows’ of their product/service experience as well as give you feedback on what other needs they may have. Providing this platform gives your group an interaction with you as the “expert” and keeps you connected to your clients and potential customers.

Groups are easy to form online through social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Create a forum where you can have more input into the conversation. A great social network for this is Facebook groups. A Facebook Group is a great place to provide valuable information to your targeted niche market as well as provide a forum for conversation about topics that interest your niche. Be strategic in how you build your group and let those who are joining know the terms of how you plan to communicate with them. Your goal should be to build a “two-way” communication with all of your members and provide value so that they will listen and act on what you have to share. Build your niche and create multiple streams of income for your business!

4 More Reasons To Start An Online Group For Your Niche
  1. Find out exactly what your niche is looking for
  2. Encourage your niche to invite like-minded friends, increasing your reach
  3. Plant information via Q and A into your discussion board in your group with topics that will get
  4. Get your clients and prospects talking with you and amongst each other all-in-all giving you access to GIVE MORE valuable information and provide an OPEN market for product and service sales

Catching the Big Niche Fish

Think of a niche market as a hook that will help you reel in the potential customers that you have identified as the most profitable and likely prospects for your business. Niches are described as either Operational Niches or Customer Niches.

Both approaches are effective but the differences between the two are that operational niches focus on specialized products and services that will ultimately appeal to a narrow customer segment (they are designed for that particular niche market). A customer niche focuses on one or more specific and profitable customer bases. The business centers its attention on tailoring its marketing efforts to a specific audience.

Catch and Release

It would be to your benefit if you can find a way to incorporate both approaches but you’ll need to do some “catch and release” first. As most entrepreneurs know, you may not always reel in the “big fish” on the first try. It takes awhile to get consistent income from your niche. Sure, immediately maximizing the income from your niche sounds great, you may want to explore around it a little. Consider ‘catching’ your niche customer slowly by devoting an hour or so a day to putting your new business model together and letting it take off. A niche is all about learning and experimentation, so don’t get frustrated by initial failure. A successful niche business will rely heavily on the contacts you will make, and this takes time.

Make a ‘Niche’ For your Products and Services

As we move into the last month of the year, are you considering what your goals for positioning your business will be for 2014?  You may want to consider creating a niche for your business to attract new customers and set yourself as the "expert in your field" of expertise.

A niche serves the critical function of distinguishing your products and services from your competitors. A niche market is a narrow but specialized market. For example, if you have a law firm that gets about 80% of the clientele that are immigrants needing law assistance, you may want to create a niche within your business to serve immigration cases.

Focusing on a niche can be effective and profitable especially for a small business who often is more successful to develop a specialty in an area that is not currently being served by other businesses. Small businesses are primed to fill this role because creating a niche strategy involves catering to a very broad audience. Some large companies look at this to be too difficult and costly. When a small business focuses in on a niche market using cost effective marketing strategies, that can business profit more than if they were to copy what their competitors are doing. What makes niche marketing appealing to small businesses is that you provide products or services that are customized to a group of consumers or potential customers in need of those products and services.

The benefits of Niche Marketing
  • There is less competition vying for those customers
  • Your business can easily match your products and services to those customers needs
  • Personalize your businesses' communications to those consumers and potential customers therefore appealing directly to your targeted audience
  • Become the expert within that need
  • Learn more about your customers and improve how your business can meet their needs
Direct Sales Challenge

So how do you create a niche for yourself within a direct sales business? The best way to do this is to master the tips and techniques already given to you by the business you have invested in. Most direct sales businesses equip you with the best strategies to get the word out about your products and services so that there is no mystery involved with making sales. However, it can be overwhelming at times when you are trying to compete with fellow team members. A niche marketing strategy can help you create multiple streams of income by listening first to your current customers needs. I am sure if you were to put pen to paper and write down some commonalities between your current customers, you’d find a common need that has yet been met. Once you have pinpointed that common need, pair up your products and services with marketing tactics.

Gratitude

Team Pure Intent is truly about the importance of gratitude. It is very important to understand that
without this powerful word and action the world would most likely be more chaotic than what it is
today. Whether it’s in business or family we must show how much one to another is appreciated. This sends a powerful message to the inner spirit that it is OK and that we’re fit to go the extra mile. If you know it or not we’re all in need of some sort of encouragement, mental stroking of importance and acknowledgment among other positive building blocks of edification.

We should be unconsciously thinking about what we can do for the next person. In the upcoming days, weeks and months, I will be breaking down more of why this is a necessary component to our lives. Even though it is a beautiful thing to celebrate each other around holidays, birthdays and special occasions, it is even more important to do it on a daily base. Whether you know it or not you think about many people though out the day. You’re either reminded by hearing a name from someone else speaking about a totally different person, but you know a person with the same name. Some may come across your mind in ways of remembering the good ole times.

Whatever it maybe you are always thinking about someone. We can’t afford to allow those thoughts to go unanswered, or ignored. To act on something positive or negative will be the same result that thought will come back to you regardless. So why not make it good so that you can continually find yourself in a good atmosphere or place in your life. You may say well I’m already in a good place, well now it’s time to help someone else get into the same place because we all deserve it and if there is any time in life it surely right now. Contact the person right now that comes to mind act on it by calling them, NOT TEXTING, but giving them something tangible. Remember it never has to cost much but the cost behind the giving is huge.

Write It Down

Keep record of those times when you experienced overwhelming joy in your business. It could have been those times when your staff went above and beyond the call of duty, or when you received that “praise report” testimony from one of your clients. The #8 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business to keep a journal of all the wonderful things that happened in the year of your business and designate a month when you can give back to what you've received. This is a great way to acknowledge those staff members and clients that went out of their way to make sure your business was a success. I would even write down those times that may have been challenging and record how you overcame them. The journal makes for a great keepsake and a reminder to thank those people, situations, and challenges that made your business better.

Communication is Key

Deadlines are all around us but it is so important to recognize those areas in your business where making the customer experience more of a joy than a pain makes your business stand out amongst all the rest. There are so many ways to be respective of time and deadlines so the #6 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business is to communicate effectively with your client. When you do this it shows that you care about the overall outcome of the service you provide whether it be good or bad. When you are creating deadlines for yourself and your clients, it’s best to give a cushion for flexibility and manage those expectations when your cushions no longer provide room for error. Checking in with your client while they may be meeting a deadline that you sent helps keep them focused on the task at hand as well as help you get what you need to complete the project on time.

It’s one thing to demand performance from your team members but never acknowledge them for a job well done. Sometimes simply saying “Thank You” needs to be supported by a gesture of some kind.

#5 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business: Spotlight your Team Members

Loyal ‘Till The End

#2 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business:  Create a Loyalty Program

Cultivating customer loyalty can be an easy thing if your products and services live up to their expectations and deliver what they say they will do. On the other hand, it can be hard to create if you are not offering a way to grow that type of relationship. The best way to do this is to create a loyalty program. Offering customer rewards are most often used for customer appreciation. A loyalty program should be tailored to your product or service and to your customer base. Whatever type of reward you offer should be both valuable and desirable to the customer.

Most of us are familiar with those store cards you get primarily from a grocery store but a loyalty program can be made up of any type of reward like frequent buyer discounts, coupons, gifts, exclusive deals, etc. What type of reward can you create today to say thank you to your clients?

555-THANKS

In the spirit of being thankful, now (more than ever) is a good time to build positive and sustainable relationships with your customers. This month we will explore a daily thought of gratitude to inspire you in your everyday business routine.

#1 Way to Show Gratitude in your Business: Pick Up The Phone

This simple gesture can go a long way especially if your client doesn’t receive phone calls from you on a regular basis. This call of “thanks” can make someone’s day as well as leave a lasting impression. The best way to make this call a great one is to not have an agenda attached to it. Don’t pitch your latest products on this call. Just let the conversation be light and remember to say thank you for their business. If your client asks about your products or services or goes ahead and wants to place an order with you, by all means grant their request. But try to go above and beyond by offering an unexpected discount to keep the call centered on what you called for in the first place: THANKS!

Gratitude in your Business

Do you find it taxing to keep up with thanking your clients? It’s hard enough to build your business, market your products and services, but when do you have the time to thank your clients appropriately so that you stay “top of mind?” Cultivating customer relationships is a crucial part of sustaining a successful business. Most businesses fail at this opportunity because they stay focused on getting new clients instead of cultivating the ones they already have.

This thanksgiving season is a great time to think about ways you could incorporate a “gratitude” marketing strategy to sustain your current customers, encourage them to refer potential clients to you, and build a positive reputation for your business.

Did you know that studies have shown that giving gratitude in areas of your personal life as well as your business promotes healthy living, high levels of energy, and just all around good vibes?

Here are the stats:

As many as 89% of consumers began doing business with a competitor following a poor customer experience, 37% of brands received good or excellent customer experience, whereas 64% of brands got a rating of “OK,” or “poor” from their customers and up to 60% of consumers will pay more for a better customer experience.

In the spirit of being thankful, now (more than ever) is a good time to build positive and sustainable relationships with your customers. This month we will explore a daily thought of gratitude to inspire you in your everyday business routine.
